Diffused White Greenhouse Plastic features an innovative design that allows you to maintain lower heat levels while pushing up plant growth by increasing light diffusion. Apart from absorbing only 45% of the incoming light rays, with 55% light diffusion, even the high intensity solar radiation is distributed homogeneously by this film. The 6-mil thickness is both sturdy and enables weather resistance, while the heat-reflective properties help to maintain a microclimate inside the greenhouse. It is offered in custom cut-to-length sizes and is suitable for greenhouses, hoop houses, and any size of high tunnels.

55% Light Diffusion for Even Plant Development

Light diffusion is crucial for crop yield optimization as it guarantees all plant surfaces receive uniform sunlight. This 55% diffused plastic effectively:

  • Scatter light evenly, thus allowing the lower leaves to receive enough light for growth.
  • Prevent direct sunlight damage, thus reducing the possibility of leaf burn and heat stress.
  • Promote stronger and healthier plants by enhancing photosynthesis.

With consistent light distribution, crops grow uniformly and efficiently, making this plastic ideal for leafy greens, vegetables, flowers, and fruiting plants.

6 Mil Thickness for Durable Protection

This durable 6 mil plastic film is built for extended use, featuring an impressive capacity to withstand wind, rain, and tearing. It is equipped with a UV-treated side that prevents sun damage, and thus, it can reliably work for many seasons.

The material is user-friendly and flexible; thus, it can be utilized in different types of greenhouses including:

  • High tunnels and hoop houses.
  • Traditional frame-based greenhouses
  • Temporary plant shelters and cold frames

Thanks to its tear-free design, you’ll be assured of long-lasting weatherproofing.

Heat Reflective Cover to Maintain Stable Growing Conditions

Excessive heat could lead to plants being stressed and hinder their productivity, but this white diffused plastic instead helps to achieve optimal temperature by:

  • Reflecting additional sunlight and as a result, there will be no overheating problems inside the greenhouse.
  • Fostering the stability of temperatures while reducing plant-stress.
  • Improve energy efficiency while minimizing the need for artificial cooling.

Due to the temperature controlling features, the growers will be able to keep the perfect climate all year long and will be able to establish regular growth cycles in hot weather too.

Custom Cut-to-Length for a Perfect Fit

This plastic light diffuser sheet is available from 12 feet to 60 feet, and in widths that can be custom cut to fit specific requirements which will save up a lot of material. A correctly sized plastic cover for a small backyard greenhouse or a large commercial operation will provide better insulation and thus longer service.

Custom sizing also reduces excess material use, making it a cost-effective solution for growers of all scales.

White Greenhouse Plastic for Improved Crop Health & Higher Yields

With the right amount of light, diffused white greenhouse plastic regulates energy balance and controls the temperature, thus creating the best conditions for crops which then result in:

  • Yield boosts due to lighting stability.
  • Decreased plant stress that was responsible for problems such as heat damage and uneven growth.
  • Stronger and healthier crops, even in unfavorable weather conditions.

This film ensures a controlled atmosphere which leads to longer growth periods and better efficiency of the greenhouses.

Use and Limitations

Exposure to chemicals

Exposure of greenhouse films to severe chemical conditions has an adverse effect on the lifetime of the film. Avoid excessive use of agrochemicals such as pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers. Take measures to prevent direct contact of chemicals to the film. Ensure that metal structures are galvanized and are free from corrosion. When wooden structure parts are used, avoid contact of the film with resin, oil, petroleum or volatile preservatives. Prevent contact of the film with PVC accessories. Chemicals containing halogens, sulfur, copper, iron, are known to accelerate the degradation of greenhouse films.

Specifically, if the following elements are found at levels higher than specified, the films are excluded from this warranty:

ElementMaximum level
Sulfur500 ppm
Chlorine50 ppm
Iron50 ppm

Overheating

Overheating of the film has an adverse effect on its lifetime. Hot air should be directed away from the film.

Disinfection chemical use

When chemicals are used to disinfect the soil, the treated soil must be covered with a film for a minimum of three weeks. After the film is removed, the greenhouse should be ventilated.

Installation Guidelines

Before Installation:

  1. Check weather conditions - install on calm, dry day
  2. Ensure frame is smooth with no sharp edges
  3. Clean frame of debris and old material
  4. Have all fastening materials ready

Installation Steps:

  1. Unroll material carefully to avoid wrinkles
  2. Allow adequate overlap on all sides
  3. Start fastening from one end, working systematically
  4. Maintain proper tension - firm but not over-tight
  5. Secure with appropriate fasteners
  6. Trim excess material with sharp knife

Best Practices:

  • Install during moderate temperatures
  • Use proper fastening systems
  • Avoid over-tensioning in cold weather
  • Allow for thermal expansion
  • Check and retighten fasteners seasonally
